North Shore Health Hub

Design and Construct

Roberts Co delivered the North Shore Health Hub for Dexus adjacent to the Royal North Shore Hospital health precinct, one of the busiest Hospital operational environments in NSW.

Designed by Billard Leece, the mixed-use medical facility with an overall building NLA of 16,915m2 consists of two commercial tower buildings sitting on top of a 5-storey 17,000m2 basement for 357 car spaces and 2-levels of podium.

Tower A (health facility) and Tower B (commercial facility) sets a new benchmark in the provision of health services and healthcare workspace – including a day surgery facility, medical centre, medical imaging, pathology, cancer treatment, medical consulting suites, retail amenity and a 76m pedestrian link bridge safely installed in the live hospital environment, that connects the building to North Shore Private Hospital.

Construction commenced in December 2018 under a D&C contract with 10 months of extensive shoring and basement excavation on the challenging site with an 18m cross fall. The building achieved practical completion in February 2021.

“I want to commend Roberts Co for the professional manner in which they have engaged with the hospital to date, during which has been an unprecedented period of activity, both from a construction point of view and from the point of view of clinical activity with planning and works associated with COVID-19. I’m very pleased to be able to say to you that our experience of working with Roberts Co on site, and with their subcontractors, has been brilliant throughout.” – John McMurray, Director Corporate Services, Royal North Shore Hospital

Liverpool Hospital Early Works

Design and Construct

Roberts Co delivered the Stage 1A Infrastructure Works at the Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct for NSW Health Infrastructure.

The scope of the Infrastructure Works included diversion of existing sewer main which runs through the Hospital site, installation of a new Stormwater system to alleviate the flood risks on Goulburn Street, new HV and ICT conduit networks, adjustment of the existing road network to connect Burnside Drive to Elizabeth Street and new Fire Service infrastructure in preparation for the main works package.

Liverpool Hospital is the busiest operational Hospital in NSW with the complex project requiring complete continuity of current hospital and surrounding precinct operations.

Construction commenced in January 2020 with a 5-day work week being implemented on the project.

“Our experience with the Roberts Co team has been very positive. At the initial project start up meeting, the team offered to deliver the project safely, to minimise disruption to the hospital operations while always respecting the staff, patients and visitors of the hospital, and we are thrilled that they have delivered on this promise. The team has worked with professionalism and have always been transparent in their approach to works” – Karinn Marrone, Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct Redevelopment Director, South Western Sydney Local Health District.
