At Roberts Co, safety is more than just a checklist – it’s a deeply ingrained part of our culture that touches every aspect of our work.
We take a holistic approach to safety, focusing on the hearts and minds of our team. Our commitment extends beyond just processes and procedures; it’s about caring for the physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing of every member of the Roberts Co family and our essential partners.
This philosophy is at the core of how we plan and deliver our projects. At our logistics centre project in Craigieburn, Victoria, we’ve implemented several initiatives to support our team and ensure their work-life balance, despite the project’s remote location an hours drive from Melbourne.
From an onsite gym that allows our team to stay active during lunch breaks to regular site-wide Toolbox Talks, we’re dedicated to minimising the impact on our team’s lives outside of work. We’ve also appointed three dedicated workplace Health and Safety Representatives and regularly conduct mental health and UV awareness sessions.
In addition, Roberts Co has implemented the following Health and Wellbeing initiatives:
▶ Wellbeing Day – All permanent employees receive three paid wellbeing days per year.
▶ Health and Wellbeing Allowance – $1000 towards a new hobby, activity, or a special experience with your loved ones.
▶ Employee Assistance Program (EAP) – All staff and construction workers receive six free counselling sessions to use each year.
Thanks to the following team members for sharing their Health & Wellbeing Allowance experiences (pictured above) – Jason Ah Sam (fishing), Ingrid Gillingham (diving), Alexander Moro (fishing), Sarah Zola (gym) and Sam Pradhan (motor racing).
