As part of a larger refurbishment, Monaco Hickey are engaged by Hospira to upgrade existing production facilities.

This project necessitated a very short production shutdown in order to refurbish existing filling and tank rooms needed for the manufacturing of a new sterile product. Monaco Hickey therefore observed tight commissioning tolerances and compressed timeframes to minimise the client’s production downtime.

A structural steel platform to house air handling units were erected prior to commencing the shutdown. Monaco Hickey then commenced demolition works and installed new in-ground drains, internal structures and reflected ceiling modifications to accommodate new HEPA filters and light fitting layouts.

A range of other works took place in parallel with the facilities upgrade, including epoxy flooring, which meant careful planning and co-ordination between Monaco Hickey, the client and specialist suppliers.
