Vale: We Remember Ross Allen

Ross will be deeply missed by his family and young children, and we send them our deepest and most sincere condolences. Alison Mirams, CEO

Today, we remember Ross Allen. Ross will be deeply missed by his family and young children, and we send them our deepest and most sincere condolences.

Ross started working in the construction industry as a carpenter. He did his apprenticeship with Multiplex, going on to be Foreman and then joining us six and a half months ago on Concord Hospital. I always knew I liked Ross – I recently learned he loved golf and was a Sea Eagles fan.  Clearly a good bloke!

These are the words from his CV – he wrote:

“I love the process of planning and then executing construction works and, within my role, communicating with subcontractors and learning from them. I have enjoyed my time delivering Concord Hospital on a 5-day work week, which has enabled me to spend more time with my family. My weekends are spent playing with my children, riding motorcycles and doing home renovations.”

Ross has two daughters, Pippa and Elsie, who will miss their father. Sadly they are very young and wont have many memories of him. With this in mind, we invite those who knew Ross to share a story about him, your memory of him, a poem – whatever you can to describe Ross, or provide photos you have of him. We will convert these stories into a coffee table book for his girls. A book they can treasure. If you would like to share a story, words or photos please send directly to Alison or Sarah M.

As a company, Roberts Co have donated to the family’s GoFundMe page and we will be completing the renovations to his unit that Ross was halfway through.

Our Employee Assistance Program is available to all Roberts Co employees. If you would like to speak to a counsellor at any time and privately, the number to call is 1800 81 87 28. We also encourage you to speak to family, friends, or counsellors about how you are feeling, please don’t bottle it up.

I thank Ross for being part of our Roberts Co family. May he rest in peace.
