Monaco Hickey was engaged by GSK to extend an existing manufacturing facility in order to accommodate a second Rommelag BFS machine.

Construction was undertaken adjacent to an operational assembly area in which the original Rommelag machine was installed.

Monaco Hickey installed all the necessary plant and infrastructure that supports production at this facility: sterile water plant, air-conditioning to cleanroom standards C and D, electrical and control systems and fire protection. Specialised pharmaceutical equipment, sourced from Europe, was installed and brought online without disruption to the project’s schedule.

GSK’s Boronia site is the company’s world manufacturing centre for Ventolin Nebules and associated products. Monaco Hickey’s involvement in the provision of this additional capacity has greatly added to GSK’s export capability and complements the BFS1 area that was originally completed in 1990.

This project was completed on time and within client budget.
