Roberts Pizzarotti Women in Built Environment Scholarship Now Open

"At the end of the day, the real benefit for business is diversity of thinking in the workplace. There is plenty of evidence which supports the economic benefits of having a team of diverse thinkers." Alison Mirams, CEO, Roberts Pizzarotti

The 2019 Roberts Pizzarotti Women in Built Environment Scholarship is now open for applications.

It is available to female students who have completed the IB, HSC or interstate equivalent in the previous two years and are commencing the Construction Management and Property Degree at UNSW Sydney.

The recipient will be awarded $5,000 per annum for the term of the degree, as well as opportunities for regular mentoring and the potential for paid work placements and graduate employment at Roberts Pizzarotti.

This is the second time the scholarship has been awarded.  In 2018, the scholarship was awarded to Sydney teenager Koleena Ng.

Koleena, who graduated from Cheltenham Girls’ High School in 2017, is now a regular visitor to the office.

Alison Mirams, CEO, Roberts Pizzarotti, said she was excited to announce the partnership between UNSW Sydney and Roberts Pizzarotti to encourage participation of female students.

“From what I see, the issue with diversity in construction doesn’t stem from the demand side. Most companies will hire and support candidates who are currently underrepresented in the workforce. The problem which needs to be urgently addressed is on the supply side. There simply aren’t enough graduates with the qualifications we require to make a real dent in overall sector demographics,” said Alison.
