In partnership with Health Infrastructure, Roberts Co are proud to celebrate the start of construction on the 14-storey Paediatric Services Building at The Children’s Hospital Westmead.
It was an honour for Roberts Co CEO Matt Bourne and Construction Director Damian Vella to join Premier Dominic Perrottet, Health Minister Brad Hazzard and Member for Seven Hills Mark Taylor to mark the milestone with a sod turning at the site of the new Stage 2 redevelopment.
“This project will future-proof health care in Western Sydney and help staff treat, care and support children and their families from across the state and around the country,” Mr Perrottet said.
Health Minister Brad Hazzard said the capacity of almost every service will be expanded in the new building.
“I would like thank our partners at Health Infrastructure in trusting us to build another vital project for the local community and beyond. This project further strengthens our focus and expertise on health projects across NSW and Victoria, and our commitment to the 5-day week programme to create the best possible working conditions for our team and our subcontractors.” Matt Bourne, Roberts Co CEO.
The redevelopment also includes a multi-storey car park; more access to redeveloped green spaces; improved spaces for families, and new and accessible playgrounds.
