Roberts Co was founded five years ago on the relationships that were built in the industry decades prior. As the company grows, this becomes more of a focus.
Expansion into Victoria earlier this year doubled the size of Roberts Co overnight. In order to continue delivering at the standard that has fuelled the companies growth to date, Alison Mirams will move into a new role as Executive Chair in 2023, with a continued focus on clients, people and culture. On a personal level, Alison would like more time with her family and to get her golf handicap back into single digits, both things that come with their own challenges when launching and leading a company in one of the toughest industries in Australia.
“The past five years have been hard work and I wouldn’t change any of it for anything – well – maybe I’d get rid of covid and the incessant rain! We have been brave and bold and challenged the industry saying of “that’s the way we’ve always done it”. Leading Roberts Co has been the most enjoyable role of my career – we have been able to achieve so much with the support and belief from our team, clients, consultants and subcontractors. I am excited to continue focusing on the company’s growth over the next 5 years and beyond in my new role as Executive Chair.” Alison Mirams, Roberts Co CEO.
Roberts Co is excited to welcome Matt Bourne as the incoming CEO, starting on 1st February 2023.
Since 2018, Matt successfully lead the NSW/ACT building team at John Holland as General Manager. Matt’s tenure saw John Holland re-establish itself as a leading builder in NSW including the successful delivery of several major projects such as the recent Sydney Football Stadium Redevelopment (Allianz Stadium).
Prior to John Holland, Matt enjoyed a 24-year career at AW Edwards Pty Limited. Developing from an undergraduate site cadet to an Associate Director.
A relationship driven leader, Matt is passionate about the future of construction. Specifically diversity, wellness, technology and ensuring the growth of all those around him.
“I am very excited to join the Roberts Co team and lead the next phase of sustainable growth for the business. Diversity, wellness and the continued push for a 5-day work week across the industry are close to my heart and what I believe to be critical factors to ensure the long-term success of not only Roberts Co, but our sector nation-wide. I believe in strong relationships, communication, and collaboration within the communities in which we deliver our projects, I will ensure this remains a core value for Roberts Co. I am looking forward to meeting the whole Roberts Co team early in 2023 and driving the next phase of growth through many exciting projects.” Matt Bourne, Roberts Co Incoming CEO
Alison will work closely with Matt to continue championing change via Roberts Co’s 5 C’s – Construction through Cooperation, Collaboration, Communication, Compassion and Community. Matt looks forward to leading the team through this next phase of growth, working closely with Luke Stambolis, Managing Director, VIC who will continue to lead and grow the Victorian business.
