Roberts Co, along with clients, Investa Property Group and Oxford Properties Group build to rent (‘BTR’) Platform, took part in a sod turning and traditional smoking ceremony, conducted by Wurundjeri Elder, Uncle Tony Garvey, to symbolise the start of construction at Indi Footscray.
Indi Footscray will comprise 702 Build to Rent apartments over three buildings at 19 storeys, 16 storeys and 8 storeys respectively. The precinct will include 266 car parks and amenities including a gymnasium, co-working space, private dining, lounge and games areas and a rooftop basketball court.
It was an honour for the Roberts Co team to join partners from the Investa project team, led by Jonathan Mott, Trent Bell and Alana Donoghue and Alec Harper from Oxford Properties, along with other special guests.
“Constructing a bespoke BTR project in the heart of Footscray is exciting. A project of this scale generates significant economic activity including local jobs and investment in the building supply chain – all helping Melbourne’s post COVID recovery.” Matt Bourne, CEO, Roberts Co.
