Roberts Pizzarotti welcomed Adam Goodes, 2014 Australian of the Year, AFL legend and CEO of Indigenous Defence & Infrastructure Consortium (IDIC) to the office to sign a strategic relationship agreement.

The agreement will help Roberts Pizzarotti move a step closer to achieving sustainable inclusion of Indigenous owned businesses as meaningful participants in the supply chain.

Key to the agreement is the commitment to build capability and capacity of IDIC’s Indigenous subcontractors and providing opportunities for them to work on Roberts Pizzarotti projects and support corporate activities.

“Many of the large subcontractors we work with started out as small businesses working for the Roberts family through the 1960s, 70s and 80s. To grow the participation of Indigenous businesses across the board, we need to engage them to complete pieces of work where they can deliver and grow their capability,” said Alison Mirams, CEO, Roberts Pizzarotti.

“Our engagement by Roberts Pizzarotti is proof of their commitment to working with Indigenous businesses as a meaningful partner, it is not just a box ticking or token gesture. Having access to longer term projects being delivered by tier one contractors will allow the Indigenous business sector to grow and in turn train and employ more Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People,” said Adam Goodes, CEO, IDIC.

IDIC currently has ten key client partners, including Boeing, Babcock, Fujitsu and Medibank Private, providing access to 80 Indigenous businesses through a single contract arrangement.
