VIDEO: Construction Begins At 118 Mount Street, North Sydney

We hosted the welcome to country and smoking ceremony to demonstrate respect to the Aboriginal community. We want Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who come to work on our projects to feel welcome and know this is a safe cultural space." Damian Vella, Project Manager, Roberts Pizzarotti

To mark the start of construction on the 118 Mount Street project, we hosted a Welcome to Country, Smoking Ceremony and Sod Turn on site with Koomurri Management and our client, Zurich.

Hosted by Roberts Pizzarotti’s project manager Damian Vella, Uncle Robert and Didgeridoo Master Russell Dawson from Koomurri Management provided context around the Welcome to Country and explained the importance of hosting a Smoking Ceremony.

Representatives from Zurich, Tim Bailey CEO, Life and Investments Australia and Chris Waterman, CEO Ad Interim, General Insurance, were joined by Alison Mirams to turn the first sod for Zurich Tower, which will be the new Australian headquarters for Zurich Financial Services Australia from 2020.
